UFC 190 Results: Gadelha Easily Ends Aguilar’s 10 Fight Win Streak
Jessica Aguilar forfeited her WSOF Strawweight Championship to prove her worth in the division, but Claudia Gadelha played the role of “party pooper” and gave her a brutal greeting to the octagon.
Gadelha controlled every aspect of the fight and caught Aguilar off guard with how immediately comfortable she was. Gadelha found her striking distance within the opening minute and changed levels constantly, keeping Aguilar guessing where to block next.
Aguilar’s head was stiff and showed little movement which allowed Gadelha to pick her apart before rag-dolling her to the canvas.
By the time the middle of the fight rolled by, Aguilar’s nose was pouring out blood and her eyes were showing signs of punishment. The former WSOF champion was informed by her corner at the end of the second round that she would have to finish the fight in order to win, but she was never able to land that shot that shifted the momentum.
Aguilar landed several leg kicks in the last round, but Gadelha never allowed the shots to lead to anything threatening.
To nobody’s surprise, Claudia Gadelha would have her hands raised when the judges’ decision was announced.
Claudia Gadelha def. Jessica Aguilar by way of Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
