UFC books 2 bouts for UFC 195
Tickets for January 2nd’s UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit go on sale to the general public this Friday.
As a result the UFC has been busy booking fights for the highly anticipated card. Today the UFC announced that Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson vs. Neil Magny and Lorenz Larkin vs. Albert Tumenov had been added to the card.
The UFC announced both bouts today.
First up we have a welterweight bout that pits elite level striker Stephen Thompson (11-1 MMA) against Neil Magny (16-4 MMA).
Stephen Thompson is currently riding a 5-fight win streak that has seen him finish 3 of his opponents, and most recently stop Jake Ellenberger with a spinning hook kick.
Neil Magny on the other hand recently rebounded from having his 7-fight win streak snapped by defeating Erick Silva via split decision back in August.
The second announced matchup is a welterweight bout between Lorenz Larkin (16-4 MMA) and Albert Tumenov (16-2 MMA).
Since making the drop down from middleweight to welterweight, Lorenz Larkin has looked simply awesome. “The Monsoon” has scored back-to-back TKO victories over John Howard and Santiago Ponzinibbio in his most recent outings, earning two “performance of the night” bonuses for his efforts.
Meanwhile, Albert Tumenov will be looking to extend his current win streak to five in a row by scoring a victory over Larkin this January. “Einstein” was most recently seen in action earlier this month at UFC 192, where he scored a first-round TKO victory over Alan Jouban. The 23-year-old has earned three of his four octagon victories by way of knockout/TKO.
