UFC Fight Night 65 Bonus Report: 4 Fighters Earn $50K!
The “UFC Fight Night 65” post fight press conference is in the books and we have the bonus report! Four fighters took home an extra $50,000 for their performances tonight— check out who it was!
Performance of the Night: James Vick
James Vick looked fantastic in tonight’s main card opener. After some back and forth action with Jake Matthews, Vick was able to land a jumping knee that connected flush. Vick tried to lock in the guillotine and Matthews defended it by going to the ground which only helped Vick more. Vick was able to secure the victory with a submission win and earned a big fat paycheck.
Performance of the Night: Robert Whittaker
Robert Whittaker channeled his inner “Mortal Kombat” and knocked Brad Tavares’ block off with two stiff shots. Tavares was dropped the first time, but got back to his feet seconds later. Whittaker stayed calm and looked for a hole to present itself and dropped Tavares again. This time, Tavares did not get up as Whittaker pummeled him on the ground until the referee stepped in.
Performance of the Night: Alex Chambers
Alex Chambers not only put on a fantastic performance, but she pushed through exhaustion and finished Kailin Curran! Chambers was taken down in the final round but caught the arm and worked for a kimura. She abandoned the kimura and applied the armbar for a come-from-behind victory!
Performance of the Night: Daniel Hooker
If there’s one sure-fire way to earn an extra $50,000, it’s by firing the crowd up right before the main-card with an amazing knockout. Daniel Hooker landed two big consecutive shots to drop Hatsu Hioki and followed him to the ground. Hooker blasted him with a few shots and the referee stepped in quickly to save Haoki!
