UFC Fight Night 74 Results: Letourneau picks up big decision win against Moroz
Valerie Letourneau didn’t need to cross her fingers tonight to pick up the first win of the “UFC Fight Night 74” main card!
Letourneau kept her distance when striking and it paid off when she cracked Moroz with a stiff right cross. The punch sent Moroz stumbling to the canvas where she tried to get back up, but Letourneau was quick to jump on her and try to finish the fight. Letourneau failed to get Moroz in the crucifix and she rode out top control until the end of the round.
Moroz showed resilience when she came back to the center of the octagon in the second round fully recovered, not shying away from throwing scrappy combinations. While she looked improved from her performance in the first round, neither Moroz nor Letourneau landed anything fight threatening in the second round. Letourneau built up a nice collection of body kicks and controlled the center of the octagon which likely aided her in picking up the judges’ decision win.
With the first round clearly in the bag, Letourneau took Moroz down early on in the third to ride out the decision victory. Letourneau remains undefeated in the octagon and is riding a three fght win streak.
Valerie Letourneau def. Maryna Moroz by way of Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
