UFC Fight Night: Le vs. Bisping: Bisping Punishes Le, Forces Stoppage in Round 4

By bjpenndotcom - August 23, 2014

Cung Le made his octagon return today at “UFC Fight Night 48” and got dominated by Michael Bisping. When the judges’ decision was read, it looked as if Le was on the receiving ends of one his own Hollywood silver-screen beatdowns.

Le seemed to be in the best physical shape of his life, but his gas-tank remained questionable. At the end of the first round, he was breathing heavy with his mouth wide open. He wanted to chop away at the body of Bisping with body shots, but they only landed once every thrity seconds. For every shot Le refused to follow up on, Bisping fired off five-punch combinations and stole all the momentum.

Toward the beginning of the second round, Bisping socked Le in the right eye with a perfectly legal jab. Le thought it was an eye poke and while protesting the strike to the referee, Bisping continued his assault and cut Le open in the process. The referee did not pause the fight until Le’s eye swelled up bad enough to cause some concern. Though it was clear Le was in serious pain, he showed great heart and chose to continue.

Bisping finally put Le in a corner and fired off a ridiculous twenty-strike combination. Le was on his back, turtled up and the referee waved the fight off. When Le got back to his feet, you could see he was in serious pain.

After the bout, Bisping called out Luke Rockhold.
