UFC FN 49 Results: Dos Anjos Drops Henderson in Round 1, Earns Questionable TKO Win

Tonight was the night of the underdogs! #4 ranked Rafael dos Anjos shocked the world when he was able to knock out #1 Ben Henderson tonight at “UFC Fight Night 49”.

After some shuffling for positioning, Dos Anjos dropped Henderson with a flying knee and Henderson tried to shoot for a takedown. Dos Anjos sprawled and successfully defended the takedown then allowed Henderson to get back to his feet. Dos Anjos then clobbered Henderson with a left hook and sent him falling to the mat.

Referee “Big John” always keeps an eye out for fighter safety and when Henderson fell to the mat, he waved the fight off. Henderson hopped back to his feet in protest, but the deed had been done and there was no going back. “Big John” defended his decision and was sure Henderson was out cold. In an age where we are learning more about concussions every day, the right decision was made.
