UFC FN 58 Bonus Report: Machida, Barao, Silva and Miranda Earn Extra $50K
Performance of the Night: Lyoto Machida
“The Dragon” is back! He was only in the octagon for a minute and two seconds, but he was able to put on one of the most dominant performances of his career. CB Dollaway wanted to smother Lyoto Machida, but he had no time to do that as he took a kick to the body that led to the end of the fight.
Performance of the Night: Renan Barao
Renan Barao fought Mitch Gagnon and at no point in the fight was he in serious trouble. Whenever it looked like Gagnon was gaining the upperhand, Barao would quickly escape or turn the tables and reverse the hold. The ending sequence of the fight began when Barao reversed a takedown attempt of Gagnon. The fight remained on the ground until Barao submitted his opponent with ease.
Performance of the Night: Erick Silva
Just like Lyoto Machida, Erick Silva was not in the octagon for long but it was one of his best wins in his career. He was able to take Rhodes town to the ground and submit him with an arm triangle choke. Silva wants to gain the momentum he lost after his loss to Matt Brown in their fight of the year candidate.
Performance of the Night: Vitor Miranda
Vitor Miranda played the curtain jerker tonight, but he brought the crowd to their feet with his electrifying knockout! Even though he was the first fighter to enter the octagon, he will not be the most forgotten as he knocked Jake Collier out with a devastating headkick with only one second remaining in the round!
