UFC FN 62 Results: Pepey Catches Fili in Triangle, Earns Round 1 Win

There was no feeling out process as these two went straight to the center of the octagon, throwing bombs. Godofredo Pepey picked up the quick submission due to his elite grappling skills.

Fili picked Pepey up early on in the first and tried to go for a slam, but Pepey slipped on a triangle attempt while up against the fence and Fili dropped to the mat in defense mode. Fili did a fantastic job at defending the triangle choke by stacking Pepey up repeatedly while scrapping around so Pepey could not grab a limb.

Pepey stayed committed to the submission even though Fili defended the hold for over a minute. After finally being able to trap the arm, Pepey locked in the hold and Fili had no choice but to tap out.
