UFC FN Dublin Results: Norman Parke defeats Reza Madadi via decision
Lightweights Reza Madadi and Norman Parke squared off in the co-main event of ‘UFC Fight Night Dublin’.
The fight began with Madadi throwing a wild combination which he used to get inside positioning on Parke.
“Stormin” was able to shake-off the attempted takedowm from Madadi, and then utilized some solid jabs to frustrate his 35-year-old opponent.
Madadi dove in for another takedown on Parke but was once again unsuccessful. “Mad Dog” would end up eating a head kick for his troubles when the pair separated.
Madadi was able to land a takedown early on in round 2, but Parke worked his way up to his feet and began landing more crisp jabs on “Mad Dog”.
The majority of round 2 was spent in the clinch, with Norman Parke clearly getting the better of Madadi during exchanges.
Parke got off to a quick start in round 3, landing a brutal liver kick on Madadi. Unfortunately, that was the best strike of the final round, as the fighters would spend the final four minutes battling in the clinch position.
The final bell sounded and it was clear that Parke had earned an underwhelming decision win.
The victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for Norman Parke (21-4-1 MMA), who improved his record to 5-2-1 under the UFC banner.
With the loss, Reza Madadi (13-4 MMA) is now 2-2 inside the octagon.
