‘UFC on FOX 15’ Beats NHL Playoffs In Overnight Ratings
UFC middleweights Luke Rockhold and Lyoto Machida gave FOX just the bump it needed to defeat NHL on NBC in ratings!
Dave Meltzer of MMAFighting reports that ‘UFC on FOX 15’ did a 0.9 rating and pulled 2.43 million viewers! This number is slightly higher than the 2.41 million viewers that the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins pulled in for NHL on NBC.
Overnight ratings are far from the final number as there are several variables taken into consideration when tallying everything up. The numbers above do not include any viewership after 10PM ET which is when the main-event between Rockhold and Machida aired!
Meltzer brought up the fact that the playoff game on NBC was between two east-coast teams, which could lead to low viewership from hockey fans on the west coast. In theory, west-coast NHL fans could have chosen to tune in to ‘UFC on FOX 15’ rather than the NHL playoff game.
