UFC on FOX 15 Results: Brandao Busts Open Hettes’ Ear, Dr. Stops Fight After 1 Round

What was looking to be an amazing preliminary featherweight bout was cut short due to a nasty gash opening up on Jimy Hettes’ cauliflower ear.

Despite having the striking advantage, Brandao was looking for the takedown early and often. Surprisingly, Brandao was able to overpower Hettes and drag him to the ground. Hettes found himself in some bad positions, but his defense was on point and he survived. Brandao ended up on top of Hettes and landed an elbow which smashed Hettes on the ear.

Blood started pouring from Hettes’ ear and nobody thought anything of it until the doctor waved off the fight! Hettes was enraged with the doctor’s decision and proceeded to punch and knee a padded corner of the octagon.
