UFC President Dana White spoke to Yahoo! Sports today to talk about the current state of the UFC. During the discussion, talks shifted to the upcoming weekend of fights which features UFC 175 where Chris Weidman will defend his middleweight strap against Lyoto Machida, and Ronda Rousey will defend her bantamweight strap against Alexis Davis. The following day at the TUF 19 Finale, BJ Penn will make his return to the cage against Frankie Edgar for a third time. That, on top of the UFC Fan Expo, which is expected to have an estimated 25,000 visitors, which takes place tomorrow and Saturday, will combine to have a $175 million dollar economic effect on Las Vegas.
UFC 175 is expected to do an unbelievable $5 million gate, which surprisingly would still not crack the top 5 gate’s in Las Vegas in UFC History; in order to do so, UFC 175 has to have a gate of 5.102 million.
