Urijah Faber: ‘Conor McGregor Beating Jose Aldo Is Good For The Sport’
UFC fighter and Team Alpha Male founder Urijah Faber thinks that both Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor could be victorious in their UFC 194 clash, and has a hard time picking a winner. But one thing he knows for sure is that if McGregor wins, it would be a good thing for the sport and for the rest of the division.
While on MMAJunkie Radio Faber was asked about the fight and he was very respectful of both men, saying that they both could walk away the winner, but McGregor winning would lead to bigger money fights.
Check it out!
“Aldo’s a very, very talented fighter and a humble guy and a guy that deserves everything he gets. Conor’s kind of the opposite. He’s not a humble guy, but he’s a good guy and he deserves everything he gets. I would say I have a good relationship with both guys.”
“Conor winning is f-cking good for the sport. People f-cking love that guy, so I think the big money fights would be with him as champion. So (a McGregor win) makes a lot of sense. But I really like Jose Aldo. It’s kind of a win-win for me.”
For his part, Urijah Faber has faced off with Jose Aldo in the past, it was a lopsided bout that saw Aldo punish ‘The California Kid” for five straight rounds. Faber no doubt would like to run that one back, and we can all agree, he probably wants to face Conor McGregor too. His insight shouldn’t be ignored when discussing the outcome of this pivotal featherweight match up.
But do you agree? Is a McGregor title reign the best thing for the UFC and the sport of Mixed Martial Arts? Hard to argue against the Team Alpha Male founder, who no doubt has his eyes on a title fight of his own.
