Despite the ramped up drug testing in the last few months, it turns out Vitor Belfort hasn’t been drug tested by the NSAC since his hearing in July, where the commission agreed to license Belfort to fight Chris Weidman.

The failed drug test earlier this summer was the second Belfort’s career, leaving many to wonder why he hasn’t been tested since his hearing nearly 3 months ago, especially given that his UFC 180 fight with Chris Weidman had been confirmed for December for several months prior to the bout being postponed earlier this month.

Ariel Helwani spoke to NSAC executive director Bob Bennett who admitted that they hadn’t tested Belfort. Belfort’s management team also confirmed that Belfort hadn’t been tested since his hearing in July.

Dana White stated earlier this week that Weidman vs. Belfort will likely go down in California in February. Ariel Helwani also spoke to CSAC executive officer Andy Foster about testing Belfort should the bout go down in California.

“He’s not going to get a free pass,” Foster said. “He will have blood and urine randomly tested.

“I would be shocked and amazed if he cheated.”
