White Claims ‘Mighty Mouse’ Brought In More PPV Buys Than Expected
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has a very well documented history with not pulling in as many viewers as other dominant champions manage to.
It sees like DJ’s attitude lately has just been ‘who cares.’
And it seems like UFC president Dana White is happy with his numbers, so yeah, who cares. White spoke on UFC Tonight and claimed that the champ actually brought in more PPV buys than they were expecting him to at UFC 191.
“The pay-per-view did better than we thought. He beat the budget. Johnson just needs to keep going out there and winning fights. Maybe he’ll be more appreciated after he’s gone.”
Sorry to say it, but that means the UFC had some seriously low expectations for what DJ would manage to pull. But really, if the UFC is happy with their champ and he really doesn’t give a crap if fans enjoy watching him, then what’s all the fuss about?
I’m sure this isn’t the last time we’ll talk about Johnson and numbers though, oh well.
