White: Rousey Wants to Beat Up Correia

Bethe Correia blasted through the competition last night at “UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto” and proceeded to call out the UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. During the post fight press conference, Dana White explained that Rousey texted him after the bout and said she wanted the fight!

“You know Ronda. As soon as [Bethe] started talking she texted me and ‘I want that fight. I want it before somebody else beats her.’ I said, ‘Calm down, lady. You got other people to fight.’ We’ll figure it out. Ronda wants that fight too.”

White was impressed with Correia’s performance in the octagon last night and stated that she did not move up as a contender because of the rivalry, but rather because of her performance.

“I don’t think Bethe moves up because of the rivalry. I think Bethe moves up because of what she did tonight. That was crazy. I haven’t seen anything like that since Baroni/Menne. She looked good tonight. That’s what’s going to get her a fight with Rousey.”
