Why Chris Weidman reflects on 2015 being a ‘great year’

By Russell Ess - December 31, 2015

You wouldn’t think that a fighter who just lost their championship title at the end of the year would be calling it a “great year.” That is not the case with former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

Weidman posted a positive message to his Facebook page explaining why he was so happy with 2015.

“2015 was a great year! The high was I was blessed with a happy healthy third child. The low was it ended with me losing my belt which was really hard for me. I see the big picture. This is going to be one of those blessing in disguise moments in my life. This needed to happen for me to be able to grow and reach my full potential as a human-being and fighter. I’ve learned so much and 2016 will be the year I become a different animal, get my belt back and continue to reign as champion ! Thank you to my family, friends and fans that have supported through these times. Have a safe and Happy New Years!”
