Zingano Speechless After Loss To Rousey: “I Don’t Know What To Say”
Last night, Cat Zingano challenged Ronda Rousey for the UFC women’s bantamweight title. While many expected the bout to be a lengthy war, in reality, the bout ended in just 14 seconds, with Rousey winning via submission.
Following the bout, a near-speechless Cat Zingano spoke to media members at the post-fight press conference to discuss the loss.
“It was a knee, then a throw, then a scramble, and then my arm was – she was wrapped around my arm. I don’t know. I got caught. I was ready to do a million different things. I planned on getting in a fist fight tonight, not being done in 15 seconds. I don’t know. I don’t know what to say. I got caught. I’m a better fighter for it.”
“She’s really good, but that wouldn’t happen again. I just want to know what I need to do to get in there again. Who’s No. 2? I’ll fight them. I’ll get back. How do I get this again?”
UFC President Dana White spoke up, sounding more than willing to give Zingano a quick turnaround, and an opportunity to work her way towards another shot at Rousey.
“We’ll make it happen. I need fights. We’ll get it done – whenever you’re ready.”
