VIDEO | Criminal chased out of BJJ school after assaulting gym staff member

Criminals are often not in the right state of mind, which could be one of the many reasons why they decide to break the law.

In this video, we take a look at this criminal that decided to assault and possibly try rob a receptionist at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school. While many might think robbing a martial arts school is not the smartest idea, this also happened recently at an MMA gym in California and things did not go so well for the robber there.

In this case, the criminal got away without a beating as he had a bike that was waiting outside for him, according to Bloody Elbow.

Fortunately, no one was severely injured in the incident including the receptionist who had quite a scare.

“He surrounded me on the stairs and tried to take the cell phone out of my hand,” said the receptionist (via Jornal Destaque Baixada). “The criminal tugged at my hair to try to lead me closer to him, but I jerked him away. Then, at that moment, he raised his shirt and said, ‘I’m going to kill you.’ But I could not tell what kind of weapon it was. I could not tell if it was a knife or a revolver. My luck was that one student saw the situation and called the other students. Frightened, the bandit ran and fled.”

This is not the first time this sort of crime happened to this BJJ school. In June, gym members were held at gunpoint as robbers stole personal belongings from the cubby holes in the gym. It is unknown if the two incidents are related.
