Conor McGregor sends Artem Lobov a message following loss to Cub Swanson at UFC Nashville

Featherweight fighters Artem Lobov and Cub Swanson went to war in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108 yesterday evening in Nashville.

The “Russian Hammer” and “Killer Cub” exchanged bombs for five straight rounds before the horn sounded and the judges were called upon to render their decision.

In the end, the judges awarded Cub Swanson the much deserved decision victory.

With that said, Artem Lobov proved a lot of people wrong with his performance in last night’s main event, this writer included.

Like many other fans and analysts, I assumed that Lobov would be no match for a fighter as well rounded as Cub Swanson and predicted an early finish for the veteran featherweight contender.

Instead, Lobov proved to be a very deserving opponent, showcasing a granite chin along with some solid striking skills in his fight with Swanson.

The “Russian Hammer’s” efforts did not go unnoticed by his good friend and training partner Conor McGregor. The current UFC lightweight champion of the world took to his Instagram last night where he delivered the following message in support of his teammate.

“That was a great fight. Proud of my brother Artem! What a ride it's been for the Russian Hammer. In a career filled with ups and downs he has never backed down from anything. Nothing but love and respect always my brother”
