Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima says his dream fight is a matchup against UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, but a fight against Gegard Mousasi will do for now. Lima recently defeated Rory MacDonald in the finals of the Bellator welterweight Grand Prix. He won the Bellator welterweight title from MacDonald, the Grand Prix, and the $1 million grand prize. It was a win that opened up the eyes of the MMA community to all the improvements Lima has made in his game, as the win over MacDonald proved he’s amongst the elite of the sport’s welterweight fighters.

Although the respect levels for his opponent were at an all-time high, Manny Muro had other ideas. Despite being as high as a +550 underdog heading into this past weekend’s event at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., Muro overcame a tough opening round to pick up a split decision win over Newell, much to the dismay of the pro-Newell crowd.

Pros fighters react to Cat Zingano signing with Bellator MMA

A string of fighters from the world of mixed martial arts have reacted to the news that former UFC star Cat Zingano has signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the news last night, with many fans believing it was inevitable following her release from the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the summer. During her time with the promotion, Zingano was able to put together a 3-4 record, although two of her victories did come against Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes.

A few months after being released by the UFC, former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano has signed a multifight deal with Bellator. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani revealed the signing on Tuesday, noting that Zingano is expected to compete in Bellator’s featherweight division. Her debut date and opponent are not yet finalized. Her signing with Bellator was heavily rumored ever since her UFC release.

Baby Slice's TKO win at Bellator 232 overturned to no contest

Kevin Ferguson Jr., better known as Baby Slice, scored a short-notice victory at Bellator 232 over the weekend. That win is no more thanks to the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation. According to a report from MMA Fighting, his 38-second TKO win over Craig Campbell has been overturned to a no contest, as Campbell was fouled during the brief contest.

Rory MacDonald could soon be a free agent. The Canadian’s Bellator 232 fight with Douglas Lima, which he lost by unanimous decision, marked the final obligation on his latest contract with the Viacom-owned MMA promotion. Speaking to the media post-fight, MacDonald explained that his current Bellator contract is now expired, but that he’d be keen to re-sign with the promotion, particularly if they offer him a title shot opposite the new champion Lima. He and Lima, to remind, are now tied 1-1 across their two previous bouts, with a decision victory apiece, and would seemingly have a score to settle.

At Bellator 232 on Saturday, October 26, Rory MacDonald collided with Douglas Lima in the final bout it the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix. The Canadian fighter beat Lima during their first matchup in January 2018, but he wasn’t as successful the second time around. Their second battle didn’t have as much action as their first matchup, but the welterweights endured a five-round war. After 25 minutes, Lima was declared the winner by unanimous decision and grabbed the belt and the $1 million prize for the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix.
