Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather holds a polished 49-0 undefeated boxing record and has recently been a hot topic amongst MMA fans with the talk of a potential fight with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Another name in MMA that came up a lot with Mayweather was former UFC women’s bantmaweight champion, Ronda Rousey, as the two stars had their own war of words in the past.

However, following Rousey’s loss to current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, Mayweather had very kind and encouraging words for Rousey.

Ronda Rousey coach Edmond Tarverdyan

“Ronda Rousey, hold your head up, you’re still a true champion in our eyes,” Mayweather said in an interview with FightHype.com “You made women’s MMA huge. So stay focused, go back to the drawing board, and do what you gotta do. 2017 is a whole new year. That was last year. That was 2016. Now it’s 2017, so you’re undefeated this year. Come back, champ.”

Recently, TMZ caught up with Mayweather and asked the retired boxing superstar if he would help train Rousey to improve her standup game.

“I’ll work with her if she’s willing to work with me,” Mayweather stated. “You know, I don’t have anything against anyone. We’re willing to work with her.”

Mayweather’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. has also offered to help train Rousey as well.

Ronda Rousey holds a 12-2 record and is now on a two-fight losing streak, falling to defeat for the first time against Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November of 2015 and most recently against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December of 2016. Prior to her two losses, Rousey was dominant in all of her fights, finishing all of her opponents by submission or KO/TKO.
