VIDEO | Floyd Mayweather’s father says he’ll “beat the sh*t out of McGregor”
There is no bigger story in combat sports today than that of a possible boxing mega fight between undefeated great Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. While this fight initially looked almost impossible, there has recently been plenty of reason to believe it could actually happen.
Though anything can happen when two athletes of Mayweather and McGregor’s caliber are pitted against each other, most people are fairly confident in their predictions for the bout. In the same way that Mayweather would be given almost no chance in a mixed martial arts bout with McGregor, McGregor is being given little chance in a boxing match with Mayweather. He has, after all, never boxed professionally before, while Mayweather followed up a fantastic amateur career with a 49-0 run as a pro.
Floyd Mayweather’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., is more than confident that his son will dominate McGregor should this fight actually occur. In fact he believes that he could take McGregor out himself in a boxing match – even at the age of 64.
The elder McGregor made this statement in an interview with FightHype.com.
“He don’t want that fight. Floyd’s gonna turn him upside down,” Mayweather Sr. said (via MMAFighting.com). “That be like you and Floyd in the ring! He looks bad in the ring. That’s a done deal right there. They’ve already showed the best that he’s got.
“He ain’t nothing but talk! I told them people on the TV already, forget about Floyd. Let’s throw Floyd to the side. Here I am, I’m a 64-year-old man and I’ll beat your ass. I’ll beat the s**t out of McGregor! Anytime he wants it, let’s go.”
“I’m telling you right now, he can do all the stuff he want to do but this guy don’t know nothing about how to get your body right and the amount of time and everything you’ve got to do, he don’t know nothing about that.”
How do you think Conor McGregor would do against Floyd Mayweather – Jr. or Sr.?
