If you’re reading this, you were probably invested enough in Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s fight that you were involved in some debating pre-fight, maybe even post-fight. No matter which side you were on, chances are you argued with someone online or lost/won a bet with a friend in real life. You definitely know some of these conversations got so heated, that a fight was going to break out. Especially in Vegas, where booze rains down like public fountains. Even Brendan Schaub and Nate Diaz got into it backstage. But in a movie theater? Over across the sea in the UK, around 30 people got wrapped up in a fight as the boxing match ended inside the cinema. “‘It was all over as quickly as it started,’ said one person who was in the cinema at the time. ‘But there was probably about 30 people involved. There was only about three security guards. ‘The staff did their best but they were clearly outnumbered. It was clear some of the people involved had been drinking. A spokeswoman for Vue said: ‘Vue screened the fight to over 8,500 customers across 47 cinemas. ‘Cinemas had increased security, strict access policies and procedures and strict alcohol policies in place. ‘We can confirm there was one incident which took place. The safety and security of our staff and customers remains our top priority at all times.” – From The Daily Mail.

A devoted Conor McGregor fan pulled off his own mission impossible and now has the photos to prove it. Oliver Regis, a British bartender flew out to Las Vegas, Nevada to watch the highly anticipated money fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. According to The Sun, the British fan bought his $2,500 ticket and made his into the T-Mobile Arena only to find that his seat was near the worst in the house located at the very top.

Both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor delivered an exciting fight on Saturday night in what was built up to potentially be the richest bout in all of combat sports. Many things were said between the two superstar opponents leading up to the fight and when it was all said and done with Mayweather getting the stoppage in the 10th round, the two athletes showed an incredible amount of respect for one another in the ring and at the post-fight press conference.

Boxing commentator Max Kellerman was a huge doubter of McGregor and went as far as to claim that “The Notorious” would not land a single punch on Mayweather during the entire course of their fight.

Last night, UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor stepped into the boxing ring with one of his most heated rivals, undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Unfortunately for McGregor and his legions of fans, this fight didn’t go as planned. Instead, the Irishman wilted under a torrent of 10th-round punches, losing by way of TKO as a result. As much as it was a disappointing night for McGregor, however, it was a momentous one for Mayweather. With this win, “Money” will now ride off into the sunset with a fantastic, 50-0 professional boxing record. Post-fight, Mayweather shared a brief encounter with McGregor’s biggest rival from the MMA sphere, Nate Diaz. We all knew Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather was going to be a weird and strange event, but we had no idea it would get to this ridiculous state. If the fight itself wasn’t bizarre enough that its even happening, all of this might result in McGregor fighting Paul Malignaggi all from a sparring session. The Killers are involved, Demi Lovato is singing the National Anthem, will Justin Bieber or Nate Diaz walk out Mayweather? Who knows. What we do know, is that they gimmicked this fight to the extreme. Take this for example: Green and gold popcorn that cost eight bucks. That’s even more than egregious movie theater prices. It happens every fight. We all have done it. He’s too fast, we say. The ground game will be his downfall. This guy will finally be the guy who beats Conor McGregor, the media writes. It’s happened through Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, Eddie Alvarez, and now Floyd Mayweather. This is different though, this isn’t MMA. It’s a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. While McGregor has enjoyed being a giant fish in a very small pond, he’s been released into the Atlantic Ocean now. It’s very hard to see how McGregor can pull this one off, but nothing has dented his confidence. Nate Diaz thinks it’s best for every fighter to not make any hard claims of who will win the mega-million dollar money boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Having fought the Irish MMA superstar twice and having one win and one loss on record with “The Notorious,” Diaz knows he is a game opponent. Although Mayweather’s team has hinted at trying to get Nate to walk out with Floyd for the fight on Saturday night, Nate’s roots are in mixed martial arts. However, in speaking on the “Against All Odds with Cousin Sal” podcast, Diaz says he isn’t picking any sides, but there is one player involved that he is not happy with.

Not long ago, Floyd Mayweather suggested that he was worried that Conor McGregor might miss weight for their Saturday-night showdown. “Conor McGregor is extremely heavy right now, I think he is 164, so he still has 10 pounds to go,” Mayweather told Fight Hype. “Y’all get that extra money if he can’t make the weight, get those extra millions ready, Dana. Or the UFC, get them extra millions ready. Somebody gotta’ pay a fine, but he gotta’ get that weight down. A true champion is, like I said before, I true champion is disciplined and very responsible, but you know, we’ll see. I don’t think he’s gonna’ make the weight. Even if he do make the weight, that’s even better, but if he don’t make the weight, we still gonna fight. But it’s gonna’ be a be a heavy fine. Give me that money.”

One of the reasons that no one ever thought Conor McGregor would actually fight Floyd Maweather, is because of the gaping chasm of skill level between the two. Mayweather has been nearly untouchable for his entire boxing career. in 49 fights, the best boxers around weren’t able to put him away, so how could McGregor? For his entire career, people have said that same thing for McGregor. Long-time striking coach Owen Roddy shrugs it off and says things would be different if you could see him in the gym. “People were on the fence about this, even in the MMA community, but when you see what he’s doing, the work rate and the effort that he puts in – it’s hard not to believe that he can do this. Even just speaking to him you can tell that this isn’t a payday. This about proving people wrong and proving that he can do what many people feel is impossible. The thing is, with Conor, he proves people wrong all the time. He always sets himself these targets of doing the impossible. Nobody gives him a chance and then they hear him speak and they see what he’s doing, then they become believers. It happens every camp.”
