Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao says he is unsure if he will continue his boxing career following his decision loss to Yordenis Ugas.

Pacquiao lost a unanimous decision despite being the betting favorite against Ugas on Saturday night in Las Vegas. For the 42-year-old Pacquiao, it was a disappointing loss as he was originally set to fight Errol Spence before Ugas filled in on short notice. Despite Pacquiao having a full training camp and riding into this fight on a three-fight win streak, he wasn’t able to do enough against Ugas and ended up losing the decision on the cards.

Speaking to the media following his boxing match against Ugas, Pacquiao said he is unsure if he will continue fighting. The legend turns 43 later this year and he says he could be done competing for good. However, Pacquiao is still leaving the door open for a return.

“In the future, you might not see Manny Pacquiao again fight in the ring,” Pacquiao said (h/t BloodyElbow.com). “I don’t know. But for how many decades, I’m happy with what I’ve done in boxing. I contributed a record and brought boxing to the top, and especially, brought honor to my country, the Filipino people. Whether there’s a purse or not, in my heart, I want to fight. I want to continue fighting. But the thing is, I also have to consider my body. I have to consider my work (as a politician) back in my country. There are a lot of things I need to accomplish and to help people. And I want to be an inspiration to all the people.”

Although Pacquiao did not want to make excuses, he admitted that he felt cramps in his legs, which contributed to his lack of movement around the ring against Ugas.

“I’m not saying this is my excuse, but both of my legs were cramping,” Pacquiao said. “That’s why I could not move around. In the early days (of my career), I could easily move and outbox him. But this time around, it was like my two legs were tight and hurting me in the second round until the 12th round.”
