Pimblett has yet to even have his first fight in the UFC but the Brit arrives with a cult following and has been making plenty of headlines in recent weeks. The Liverpudlian boasts a 16-3 record and was the lightweight champion in Cage Warriors.

Sarah Alpar received quite a surprise after setting up a GoFundMe campaign in June. The 30-year old bantamweight began her campaign to raise money for her upcoming fight camp as well as everyday living expenses. Noticing the word spread around, YouTuber turned 3-0 boxer, Jake Paul and the Triller promotion answered Alpar’s call with a combined $30,000 deposit. Alpar took home a reported $13,500 in her UFC debut.

Although ‘Pacman’ was the betting favorite heading into the fight, Ugas was able to execute a seemingly perfect gameplan to pull off the upset.

At their press conference, Paul proposed a bet that the loser of the fight would have to get a tattoo. If Paul wins, Woodley would get an ‘I love Jake’ tattoo, while if Woodley wins, Paul would get a ‘I love Tyron’ somewhere on their body.

Paul has been at the forefront of the fighter pay movement for UFC fighters. The boxing star wants White to pay his fighters more, and with Paul being so vocal about the low fighter pay in the UFC, it’s led to a number of MMA fighters speaking out recently about their pay, including middleweight contender Jared Cannonier, and women’s strawweight Cheyanne Buys. However, despite the increased talk about fighter pay, there haven’t been any changes to the way UFC fighters are paid in regards to giving them a bump in pay.

Ugas outpointed Pacquiao and picked up a unanimous decision win in Las Vegas in what was an upset at the sportsbooks. Taking to his social media in the days following the loss, Pacquiao issued a statement where he thanked his fans for their support, congratulated Ugas on his victory, and apologized to his supporters for not being able to get the victory.

For the 42-year-old Pacquiao, it was a disappointing loss as he was originally set to fight Errol Spence before Ugas filled in on short notice. Despite Pacquiao having a full training camp and riding into this fight on a three-fight win streak, he wasn’t able to do enough against Ugas and ended up losing the decision on the cards.

Yordenis Ugas issued a statement following his upset unanimous decision win over boxing legend Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Ugas filled in on short notice to fight Pacquiao when Errol Spence withdrew to an injury, but he pulled off the upset as he won a unanimous decision over Pacquiao. For Ugas, this is by far the biggest win of his boxing career over one of the sport’s all-time greats in Pacquiao. To put a name like Pacquiao on one’s resume is absolutely massive and Ugas knows that. Following the victory, the Cuban took to his social media to praise his rival.
