Audie Attar, the manager behind Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao, believes Floyd Mayweather would lose to both men if he fought them in 2020. Mayweather holds wins over both Pacquiao and McGregor. He fought Pacquiao in 2015, winning a decision in a fight that was widely panned for its lack of action. He then fought McGregor in 2017, in the UFC star’s boxing debut, and picked up a 10th-round TKO win.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor believes there is a “very high probability” of the Irishman boxing against the legend Manny Pacquiao in 2021. McGregor returns to the Octagon for the first time in a year next weekend at UFC 257 when he takes on rival Dustin Poirier in the main event of the evening. With a win over Poirier, it’s expected that McGregor will call out UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for a rematch. But while his focus is on MMA at the moment, McGregor can’t help but look around at other opportunities for him in the world of combat sports, namely in the boxing ring.

Garcia, 22, is currently riding an impressive knockout win over Luke Campbell, and has been chomping at the bit for a fight with Floyd Mayweather protege Gervonta Davis. Beyond that, the young star could find himself in fights with the likes of Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and Vasily Lomachenko.

Sergey Kovalev tests positive for performance-enhancing drugs

Boxing superstar Sergey Kovalev tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs ahead of his upcoming matchup against Bektemir Melikuziev. BoxingScene.com’s Dan Rafael reported that Kovalev tested positive for synthetic testosterone in a VADA drug test administered on December 30 in Las Vegas. The test came back on Wednesday and Team Kovalev was alerted of the positive drug test. This means that Kovalev’s fight with Melikuziev, which was set to take place in California, is likely going to be canceled. The letter that VADA sent out was leaked in the report and shared for fans and media. Below is what VADA said about Kovalev.

UFC president Dana White gave an update on the lack of talks with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, saying it’s because “the world imploded.” White and Mayweather were famously photographed sitting courtside at an LA Clippers vs. Boston Celtics NBA game in Los Angeles.  But that was back in December 2019, well before COVID-19 caused a global pandemic. White had said at the time of the meeting that he had an agreement with Mayweather to work together in 2020, but that never happened. White said last summer that he had some talks going on with Mayweather, but so far, those talks have gone nowhere.

Campbell was able to score a knockdown in the second round of the fight but Garcia was able to survive it and hold on. In the seventh round, Garcia landed a nasty liver punch that left Campbell unable to continue, declaring him the winner. With Garcia fresh in the news, Cejudo decided to take a shot at the boxing champ.
