Claressa Shields signs with PFL

Claressa Shields, a former Olympic gold medalist in boxing, is making the move to mixed martial arts and surprisingly has signed with PFL. Shields has been teasing a move to MMA for the last few years. In fact, she was a guest of UFC president Dana White at UFC 245 last December in Las Vegas. Many thought that after Amanda Nunes defended the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie that night that Shields could potentially be a future opponent. But that fight won’t be happening anytime soon with Shields now in PFL.

Floyd Mayweather is proud of his friend, Nate Robinson for stepping in the ring even though the result did not go his way. In the co-main event on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. card, Robinson took on YouTuber Jake Paul. Unfortunately for the three-time NBA Slam Dunk champion, he was brutally knocked out in the second round.

Former NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas called for Jake Paul to run back the Nate Robinson fight after he scored a nasty KO this past weekend. Paul knocked out Robinson in absolutely devastating fashion in the co-main event of this past Saturday’s boxing match between legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. Robinson, a former NBA dunk champion, looked completely out of place in the fight. Although he says he trained hard, once the bell rung it was clear that Robinson was completely out of his element. Paul scored two knockdowns before scoring the KO blow, which led to a number of NBA playing reacting to the finish on social media.

Silva has since become a free agent but has already been turned down by Bellator, PFL, and ONE Championship, though RIZIN remains interested. Another option for Silva is to go into boxing, and a fight against another aging legend like Jones Jr. is a possibility. The 51-year-old Jones Jr. fought 54-year-old Mike Tyson to a draw on Saturday night at a big boxing event in Los Angeles.

Paul picked up a quick knockout in his boxing debut earlier this year and then improved to 2-0 after knocking out Robinson in an absolutely devastating fashion. It was one of the most brutal knockouts of the year, and even though it was essentially a matchup between two celebrities, Paul showed once again that he does possess KO power.

Check out the scorecards from Saturday night’s boxing match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., which resulted in a split draw verdict. Tyson and Jones Jr. met in a battle of two of the legends of boxing on Saturday night on a big pay-per-view put on by Triller. The bout was an exhibition match considering both men are in their 50s, but it proved to be an entertaining battle for what it was. Although there was no knockout in the fight, it did go the full eight-round distance and both men proved to be worthy adversaries. Although the bout was not a sanctioned professional bout, there were three judged scoring remotely for the WBC.

Paul and Robinson met in the co-main event of Saturday’s boxing card on Triller, one that featured a hyped-up main event between legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. The Paul and Robinson fight didn’t last long. After getting knocked down twice in the first round, somehow the referee let Robinson go to the second round. In the second round, he was the victim of an absolutely brutal knockout by Paul, who faceplanted Robinson with a massive overhand right to improve to 2-0 in his boxing career.

Tyson and Jones Jr. put on an entertaining, eight-round exhibition match for the fans. At the end of the 16 scheduled minutes of fighting, the fight went to three remote judges who scored the bout as a draw. Many watching felt that Tyson had done enough to get his hand raised, but ultimately it was judged to be a draw. Considering Tyson is 54 and Jones Jr. is 51, it was pretty impressive that both men were able to go the full eight rounds they were scheduled for with no one getting seriously hurt.
