Tom Taylor - October 24, 2017
Last weekend, Conor McGregor training partner Artem Lobov returned to the Octagon opposite Team Alpha Male’s Andre Fili. Though Lobov was not without his moments in the fight, he was ultimately out-hustled by Fili, losing a unanimous decision as a result. Shortly after this loss, Lobov hinted at a possible retirment from MMA, and divulged his interest in a move to the boxing ring. Speaking to BT Sport, he suggested a potential fight with Conor McGregor rival Paulie Malignaggi if the UFC releases him from his contract.

Russell Ess - October 4, 2017
Former boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi is still not letting his beef with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor go. The two had a couple of sparring sessions together after McGregor’s team asked Malignaggi to help “The Notorious” prepare for his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather. Their training relationship came to an end after Malignaggi felt he was “exploited” with photos that made him look bad by Conor and his team.
Paul Malignaggi and UFC's Chase Sherman Go at it on Twitter
Justin Golightly - October 3, 2017
Twitter is basically the UFC’s 24-hour a day press conference for fights that are and could never happen. Some fights are born and bred by social media. Just recently, Daniel Cormier let Volkan Oezdemir that he wants him to have the next shot based off of Twitter responses. However, a fight between Paul Malignaggi and Chase Sherman may never happen, but that won’t stop them from digging into each other on Twitter. We bet you thought this was going to be about Conor McGregor, but nope. Good ol’ GIF master Chase Sherman.
Paulie Malignaggi trashes "p*ssy" Conor McGregor, challenges him to back up talk
Tom Taylor - October 3, 2017
On August 26, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor climbed through the ropes for a boxing match with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Strangely, one of the biggest stories to emerge in the lead-up to this blockbuster battle was McGregor’s sizzling beef with boxer Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi was originally brought into McGregor’s camp as a sparring partner, but ultimately left when he felt he’d been unfairly represented by the Irishman and his team. From there, things only got worse, as the pair traded trash talk in interviews and on social media, and nearly came to blows during the grand arrivals for the fight.

Mayweather vs McGregor Las Vegas bets smash boxing record but still pale in comparison to all-time record
Russell Ess - September 29, 2017
Millions of dollars were put on the line by those betting on the money fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Although the fight seems to have fallen short of the financials and pay-per-view buys of what is still the richest fight in combat sports in Mayweather vs Pacquiao, the “MayMac” fight did shatter one combat sports record in Las Vegas.
Conor McGregor Wanted to Fight Paul Malignaggi in the UFC
Justin Golightly - September 28, 2017
Flashback to the chaos of Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, with Paul Malignaggi orbiting the pandemonium like a satellite. The fight world moves so fast that their controversial sparring sessions and the infamous knockdown/pushdown photos seem like distant memories. Still, McGregor felt disrespected and wanted to take that out on Malignaggi during camp. According to his coach, the UFC ‘champ champ’ was willing to take it even further, wanting to drag the former boxer into the Octagon. “Conor [McGregor] wanted that. He said to me, ‘Let’s get [Paul Malignaggi] in the Octagon’, and I said that there was no way that he would fight in MMA. You’ve got to be able to prove yourself in the arena. When Conor wanted a boxing license they could look at the Diaz 2 fight where there was more or less 25 minutes of boxing. Why would Paulie go to MMA? He’d never go to MMA. Now, Conor could tweet now and say ‘I’m fighting Paulie Malignaggi’, and I guess I would be wrong then.”
Report | Canelo-GGG did one of the best live gates ever for Las Vegas
Tom Taylor - September 27, 2017
Among casual combat sports fans, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin’s September 16 boxing match didn’t generate quite the same tidal wave of hype as Floyd Mayweather’s battles with Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao. It did, however, manage some serious financial success all the same. According to a report from Jake Donovan on Twitter, Canelo-GGG set the third-highest live gate for Las Vegas at $27,059,850 from 17,318 tickets sold. Though Donovan’s original Tweet suggested the fight did the second-highest gate, he later corrected himself, admitting he forgot that Mayweather vs. McGregor had stolen the second-spot on the yet un-updated list.

Tom Taylor - September 27, 2017
The August 26 boxing match between undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was widely expected to topple all previous combat sports records. Unfortunately, it’s fallen short in that regard. First, we learned that the so-called “money fight” failed to break the record for live gate, clocking in at $55,414,865.79, and failing to overtake Mayweather’s lucrative battle with Manny Pacquiao, which did a live gate of $70 million.

Russell Ess - September 22, 2017
While some will still argue that the 10th round TKO stoppage in the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor boxing match was either early or justified, the man delivering the punches is glad he didn’t knock “The Notorious” out cold. In an interview following their multi-million dollar boxing match, Mayweather was asked if he wished that the ref did not stop the fight to give him the chance to put McGregor to sleep, which the Irishman said he would have preferred.
