Gennady Golovkin Canelo Alvarez

This Saturday is the night boxing fans have been waiting for!

The highly anticipated rematch between Canelo Alvarez 49-1-2 (34 KOs) and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin 38-0-1 (34 KOs) will take place live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The pair first met last September and after twelve rounds of exciting back and forth action the fight went to the judges scorecards for decision.

Most fans and analysts watching live or at home scored the bout in favor of Gennady Golovkin, so it came as a huge shock when it was announced that judge Adelaide Byrd had turned in a scorecard of 118-110 in favor of Canelo Alvarez.

Judge Dave Moretti scored the fight 115-113 for Gennady Golovkin, while judge Don Trella had the fight rules as a 114-114 draw.

Due to the mixed scorecards, “Canelo vs. GGG 1” was ruled a split-draw.

Following the controversial decision in their first fight, most fans are expecting that either Canelo or “GGG” will earn their 35th career knockout victory in the rematch.

The IBO, WBA and WBC middleweight belts will be on the line in Saturday night’s grudge match in Sin City.
