Wednesday it was announced on UFC Tonight that Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II had been set for the main event of UFC 200. In addition it was announced that Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar would compete for the interim featherweight title. In addition, 3 more high-profile bouts were officially confirmed.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos (17-4 MMA) has been in a bit of a slump, going a mere 2-3 during his past five octagon appearances. Although only 32 years of age, “JDS” has been through plenty of wars, most notably his final two bouts with rival Cain Velasquez in which he took a considerable amount of punishment.

As we get closer and closer to UFC 200 on July 9th, reports of potential matchups have begun to emerge. In addition, fighters are calling each other out hoping to talk themselves into a spot on what many expect to be the biggest event in the history of the UFC. It was reported on Fox Sport 1’s “UFC Tonight” that the UFC is targeting a bout between former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top ranked heavyweight contender Travis Browne.

Looks like Cain Velasquez of AKA is on the road to recovery after a successful surgery for a sciatic nerve. The former champ has a time table of a little over a month before he can get back into to training for his title rematch with Fabricio Werdum. Here’s his released statement via Facebook:
