The YouTuber has since been aggressively calling out Conor McGregor and Dillon Danis. Fighters like Nate Diaz and Amanda Nunes have since called him out and Weidman is the latest fighter to be added to the list.

UFC middleweight contender Chris Weidman explained why the UFC passed on booking him in the fight against top prospect Khamzat Chimaev. Weidman broke his long losing skid with a unanimous decision win over Omari Akhmedov in his last outing. Since then, Weidman has been calling for some of the top dogs in the middleweight division such as Derek Brunson and Paulo Costa. Another fighter who Weidman mentioned as a potential opponent in Chimaev. Most fighters didn’t seem to be interested in being matched up with the Swede, but Weidman was out there calling for it.

Chris Weidman is looking to fight Paulo Costa after Derek Brunson turned him reportedly turned him down. Weidman returned to the win column back in August with a hard-fought decision win over Omari Akhemdov. After that, he began calling for a fight against a top contender and was offered to fight against Brunson which he accepted. However, the former middleweight champion says Brunson turned him down.

The Chechen-Swede first picked up two wins in the span of 10 days on Fight Island in July, defeating John Phillips by first-round submission and Rhys McKee by first-round TKO, then picked up his third win of the season when he knocked out Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11, also in the first round.

Vettori was able to take his current winning streak in the UFC to three fights in June as the Italian continues to try and climb up through the ranks of the 185-pound division. Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is hoping for a quick turnaround following his unanimous decision win over Omari Akhmedov at UFC Vegas 6. Weidman needed a win badly and he did just that by digging deep and grinding out a decision over Akhmedov. It was the first win for Weidman since a July 2017 submission win over Kelvin Gastelum. The win over Akhmedov also snapped a two-fight losing skid that saw Weidman get knocked out in brutal fashion by both Dominick Reyes and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Prior to the Akhmedov fight, Weidman had lost five of his previous six.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman says he was not happy with his performance in his unanimous decision win over Omari Akhmedov on Saturday. In the co-main event of UFC on ESPN+ 32, Weidman finally got back into the win column for the first time since July 2017 when he was able to grind out a hard-fought decision over Akhmedov. After a strong first round, Weidman began to fade badly in the second round and at times appeared to be on the verge of getting finished. But he was able to hold on until the third round. In the last round, Weidman landed a takedown and then dominated Akhmedov from top position on the mat to edge out a unanimous decision victory.
