Conor McGregor fires a very personal shot at Floyd Mayweather
The beef between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather likely just took a turn to getting real personal.
The buzzing fantasy matchup between the MMA star versus the boxing star has been going on for quite some time now. However, a social media post from “The Notorious” on Wednesday took things to an entirely new level.
McGregor posted this animated image to social media where the UFC champion is seen holding boxing world title belts in both his hands along with the WBC boxing title wrapped around his waist with Mayweather laid out at his feet. The image is one thing but the short caption is what really takes a dig at Mayweather.
McGregor’s caption said, “Call me C.J Watson!”

If you aren’t familiar with C.J. Watson, he is a point guard in the NBA currently playing for the Orlando Magic.
What does C.J. Watson have to do with any of this you ask?
Watson was allegedly the reason Mayweather got into a physical altercation with ex-girlfriend Josie Harris, who is the mother of three of his children after finding text messages from Watson on her phone. The physical altercation where Harris said Mayweather physically beat her up ended up getting the boxing star thrown in jail for two months after pleading guilty to reduced domestic battery charges in 2011.
Mayweather recently told ESPN that he is willing to guarantee McGregor $15 million for their boxing match along with a percentage of pay-per-view buys. However, McGregor being under contract with the UFC likely won’t allow that to happen anytime soon.
Conor McGregor surely knows how to get into his opponents head and if he and Floyd Mayweather ever get officially matched up for a fight, you can bet that the hype leading up to the bout will be out of this world. The two are already buzzing in headlines just mentioning each other’s name. However, this last shot McGregor fired surely had a bit more malice on it.
