Khabib Nurmagomedov rips Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather

Top ranked UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is doing everything in his power to secure a lightweight title fight with newly crowned lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

This past weekend on the UFC 205 fight card, Nurmagomedov picked up a spectacular 3rd round submission win over Michael Johnson, which not only included some horrific ground and pound, but also some mid-fight trash talk from Nurmagomedov, in which he told his opponent that he must give up. The win not only moved Nurmagomedov’s UFC record to 8-0, but also advanced his professional record to 24-0, earning him the #1 spot on the UFC’s official lightweight rankings.

Following his win over Johnson, Nurmagomedov used his post-fight Octagon interview to call out Conor McGregor, who won the lightweight championship later in the night. In the main event of the card, Conor McGregor made UFC history as he put on a flawless performance against Eddie Alvarez, winning the UFC lightweight championship by TKOing Alvarez in the second round of their fight.

Now, while talks of a potential boxing match between McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have continued to surface, Nurmagomedov has been doing his best to ensure that his name isn’t forgotten when it comes to McGregor’s next potential opponent.

This week, he took to Twitter to call out both McGregor and Mayweather!

This comes on the heels of Nurmagomedov giving the UFC an ultimatum earlier this week, in which he stated that if he doesn’t get a title shot he will no longer be fighting in the UFC. Prior to that statement on social media, Nurmagomedov pointed out “you don’t have to love me, but you need to respect me. 24-0.”

Only time will tell if the talks of a Mayweather-McGregor boxing match will result in a fight, or if Nurmagomedov will finally be given the title shot he has been waiting for.
