McGregor Sports and Entertainment gets first massive feature

McGregor Sports and Entertainment is the featured promotion sitting right next to Floyd Mayweather’s Mayweather Promotions logo on the Mayweather vs McGregor World Tour graphic that the UFC posted on Friday.

The announcement of the four-city international press tour will jump to three different countries in four days.

This marks the first massive feature for McGregor Sports and Entertainment and with the buildup and promotion for this fight, could possibly be the biggest ever for McGregor’s company as there are not many stars as big as Floyd Mayweather that McGregor could face in a mixed martial arts or boxing fight.

Back in January, Darren Rovell of ESPN reported that McGregor filed under his McGregor Sports and Entertainment company to trademark his name and his nickname, “The Notorious.” The trademark filings for McGregor’s name and nickname were listed on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website stating McGregor plans to use “trademarks with products such as aftershave, video games, books, clothing, restaurants, barbershops and health clubs.”

According to ESPN, McGregor’s rival, Floyd Mayweather that he is now set to meet in the center of the boxing ring has filed over 230 trademarks over the last seven years.

Floyd Mayweather holds a perfect 49-0 professional boxing record and will welcome Conor McGregor into the boxing ring for his first professional boxing match. The 40-year-old Mayweather last fought in September of 2015 against Andre Berto where he won by unanimous decision.

Conor McGregor holds a 0-0 professional boxing record and is 21-3 in professional mixed martial arts. McGregor last fought in November at UFC 205 and became the new undisputed UFC lightweight champion by beating Eddie Alvarez by TKO in the second round. McGregor made history that night by becoming the first simultaneous two-division UFC champion holding both the featherweight and lightweight titles. McGregor was forced to relinquish the featherweight title shortly after winning the lightweight title as UFC President Dana White always stated that was the deal he made with Conor if he won both belts.
