The four-day, four-city press tour for Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s August 26 mega fight was a doozy. It created all of the hilarious, intense, and memorable moments we hoped for. Unfortunately, it also created a few less savoury moments, as some of McGregor’s comments were deemed racist, and Mayweather uttered a homophobic slur. According to McGregor’s father, Tony McGregor, however, any opinions that the Irish mixed martial artist is racist are inaccurate. The elder McGregor defended his son on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.

On August 26, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will battle Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the boxing ring. Though his training camp for this massive showdown began in his native Ireland, he has now relocated to Las Vegas, where he will undertake his remaining preparations for the undefeated great. As it turns out, a key facet of these preparations will indeed be former two-weight world champion and current boxing analyst Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi detailed his role in McGregor’s camp on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. Apparently, he’ll serve as more of a sparring partner and less of a coach.

If Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh is to believed, the Irish MMA star should be ready to fight – and beat – Floyd Mayweather any day now. On a late June episode of The MMA Hour, Kavanagh claimed McGregor would be ready for the undefeated pugilist in just three weeks’ time, far less than eight weeks he actually had left to prepare at the time. “We have two more weeks in Ireland, then the guys will head to Las Vegas,” Kavanagh said (h/t MMAMania). “We’ll then have six weeks in Vegas before the fight, but I watched the session today and said we would be ready in three weeks.”

While Conor McGregor superfans have been getting tattoos of the brash Irish star since he burst onto the MMA scene several years ago, one fan may have just taken it one step further. On the first stop of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor world tour in Los Angeles, McGregor rocked a suit which repeatedly said ‘fuck you’ in the form of pinstripes. The suit made headlines for obvious reasons, with many wanting to buy a similar looking suit, however one McGregor fan decided to take things one step further.

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor world tour recently had its final stop in London recently, where the pair met in the boxing ring for the first, and only, time prior to their showdown on August 26th in Las Vegas. Throughout the course of the world tour, viewers continued to score the press conferences as if they were MMA rounds, with many agreeing that Conor McGregor won the Toronto, and New York press conferences in the eyes of many, however Floyd Mayweather is confident that he is actually getting in McGregor’s head.

Friday afternoon in London, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor appeared in a boxing ring together for the first, and only, time ahead of their August 26th boxing match. The stop in London marked not only the 4th stop on the pair’s media tour, but also the final stop of the world tour ahead of their August 26th fight. Of course, with the stop being the last of the world tour, tensions were even higher than at previous stops. After Conor McGregor delivered an emphatic speech to those in attendance, which included him rubbing Floyd Mayweather’s head, Floyd Mayweather took the mic.

Thursday afternoon, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather appeared onstage together in New York for the third stop of their highly anticipated world tour. The press conference was certainly the most intense so far, with the two men getting in each other’s faces once again as tensions continued to build throughout the course of the third press conference. at one point, things got so heated that the UFC champion was just inches away from Mayweather, as he made sure he was included in Mayweather’s Periscope stream footage, going as far as to attempt to smack Mayweather’s hat off his head.

On Tuesday, Conor McGregor told Mayweather to “dance for me boy” during the pair’s first press conference in Los Angeles. Following the event, many began to accuse McGregor of intending for the comments to be racist. With that being said, Floyd Mayweather Sr was quick to shut down the criticism as he stated that he didn’t take McGregor’s comments as racist.
