Conor McGregor gives update on how he feels at 155

While Conor McGregor is currently the UFC featherweight champion, one week from today he will have the opportunity to become the first man to simultaneously hold two UFC belts when he faces UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205. While McGregor has previously competed at lightweight under the Cage Warriors banner in Ireland, he has yet to fight at 155 inside the Octagon. Despite being booked for a lightweight title fight with Rafael dos Anjos back in March, McGregor fought twice at welterweight after dos Anjos was forced out of the fight with a broken foot.

After UFC President Dana White announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be making the jump to lightweight to fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight strap at UFC 205 on November 12th, the UFC President revealed that McGregor would be making a “personal” announcement, “out of left field” following the fight. While there had been no word as to what McGregor’s big announcement would be, and Irish newspaper printed an article last month with information from McGregor’s camp stating that the champ would be taking over a year away from the Octagon following the fight in order to spend time with his girlfriend, Dee Devlin.
