Logan Paul says he almost caused Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight in a restaurant

Adam D Martin - August 27, 2021

YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul says he almost caused UFC superstars Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight in a restaurant. Paul, who fought legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather to a draw in an exhibition match back in June, will be in Cleveland, Ohio this weekend to support his brother Jake Paul, who takes on former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Ahead of the fight between the YouTuber and the former UFC champ, Paul went on his “Impaulsive” podcast recently and told a story about another fight that nearly broke out between two UFC stars in McGregor and Nurmagomedov. According to Paul, it was a situation where he tried to book a table for his chef Eric, who has a connection to McGregor as he was cooking for him in his camp. Apparently, Nurmagomedov was also at the same restaurant and nearly ran into McGregor.

Conor McGregor squashes beef with Daniel Cormier: "Respect Daniel, carry on, God bless"

Adam D Martin - August 26, 2021

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has seemingly squashed his beef with Daniel Cormier, tweeting out to “respect Daniel, carry on, God bless.” McGregor has been taking some shots on social media as of late at several other fighters, and Cormier was one of the ones who he had some critical things to say about, including suggesting that DC was intoxicated before a pre-UFC 264 media event. It looks like the Irishman and DC are finally squashing their beef, however. On Wednesday, Cormier took to his podcast with Ryan Clark to release his list of the top-five must-see fighters in UFC history, and the man who was at the top of the list was McGregor. It was seemingly an example of DC extending an olive brand, and it looks like McGregor has accepted it.

Kevin Lee reacts to Conor McGregor's recent downfall in the UFC: "Drugs are a hell of a thing"

Adam D Martin - August 26, 2021

UFC welterweight Kevin Lee reacted to MMA superstar Conor McGregor’s recent downfall in the UFC, saying “Drugs are a hell of a thing.” McGregor suffered two straight TKO defeats to his rival Dustin Poirier this year alone, with him losing via second-round knockout at UFC 257 in January and then losing via first-round doctor stoppage TKO at UFC 264 in July when he broke his leg. In the wake of his loss to Poirier, McGregor has been taking to social media to make numerous comments and remarks about a number of different fighters, including Poirier and Daniel Cormier. As far as Lee goes, he sees a man who is frustrated, and one who has been changed by drugs.

Dustin Poirier says he is "living rent free" in Conor McGregor's head

Adam D Martin - August 25, 2021

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier says he is “living rent free” in rival Conor McGregor’s head following their recent Twitter spat. Poirier defeated McGregor via first-round TKO at UFC 264 in July for his second straight win over his rival. While his second-round TKO win at UFC 257 earlier this year was a clean stoppage with no controversy, the trilogy fight saw McGregor break his leg, which led to the doctor stoppage. Even though Poirier is 2-1 all-time in their series and McGregor is out for the next year with his injury, it hasn’t stopped the Irishman from taking to his social media as of late to take shots at Poirier and his family. But Poirier says he doesn’t care.

Adam D Martin - August 23, 2021

When asked if McGregor should go after the fourth fight with Poirier if and when he returns to the Octagon next year, GSP suggested that it would be a bad idea and that Diaz is a better choice for him.

Jorge Masvidal calls Conor McGregor a "very small, fragile dude"

Adam D Martin - August 20, 2021

UFC welterweight superstar Jorge Masvidal called Conor McGregor a “very small, fragile dude” following his recent leg break loss at UFC 264. McGregor suffered a leg break injury against Dustin Poirier in his trilogy fight last month at UFC 264, but it hasn’t stopped the Irishman from taking to his social media and talking trash about a ton of potential opponents. One potential foe for McGregor inside the Octagon is Masvidal, as the two are big names who have been connected to a money fight in the past. This fight has never been booked, and if you ask Masvidal, it won’t be happening anytime soon because “Gamebred” is just a bigger man than “Notorious.”

In the years since then, we have heard some chatter about a potential rematch between these two, but if you ask the Brazilian, he has no interest in fighting the Irishman again. As far as Aldo is concerned, McGregor is fighting at 155 and 170lbs now, while Aldo is established at 135lbs. Speaking to MMAFighting.com’s Guilherme Cruz, Aldo shot down a McGregor rematch.

At UFC 264 in July, Poirier and McGregor had their highly-anticipated trilogy and Poirier won the fight after the Irishman broke his leg at the end of the first round. It was a disappointing ending and for Poirier, he says the second fight back at UFC 257 was much better for him as it was a definitive ending.

While McGregor is still one of the biggest draws in combat sports, he is coming off of back-to-back TKO losses to Dustin Poirier and had his leg broken in his last fight. Due to those issues, Paul admits that McGregor isn’t as interesting of an opponent as he once would have been. But as he admitted in an interview with MMAFighting.com, Paul still has aspirations of fighting him.
