McGregor knocked out Poirier that night, and six years later there are now discussions about a potential rematch. McGregor has proposed a charity MMA fight against Poirier, who has accepted. UFC president Dana White has also confirmed the world’s leading MMA promotion has spoken to both men about a fight.

White said releasing the images was a dirty thing to do and McGregor fired back at the UFC president. It’s a big mess, and the biggest problem is it doesn’t get McGregor any closer to fighting. He hasn’t fought since January at UFC 246.

McGregor said in the texts that it was a fight that interested him but White said the UFC would lose its promoter’s license if they booked it. The fight never came to be, and McGregor is now reportedly in negotiations to box against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
