Sources confirm Conor McGregor retirement Tweet isn’t a joke
Earlier today UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor shocked everyone as he announced his retirement via Twitter with less than 3 months to go until his UFC 200 main event scrap with Nate Diaz.
While many believed that McGregor was pulling a prank, or trolling his fans, that doesn’t appear to be the case according to Ariel Helwani.
Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor's tweet isn't a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.

Diaz reacted to McGregor’s Tweet by announcing his own retirement. While there’s so far been no further word from McGregor himself, standby for updates regarding the fate of the UFC 200 main event.
