For his efforts, ‘Razor’ took home the biggest purse of any fighter featured on the card, pocketing a cool $312k. Daukaus, meanwhile, was paid $80k in defeat.

Instead, ‘Razor’ decided to showcase his improved striking skills, outpointing Daukaus on the feet in the opening five minutes. Then, at the start of round two, Blaydes landed a huge punch that sent Daukaus crashing down to the canvas. Curtis quickly pounced on his wounded opponent and promptly finished the fight off with ground and pound.

MMAFighting.com first reported that Blaydes vs. Rozenstruik will take place at UFC 266, which takes place on September 25 at a location that has yet to be determined. The main event for the card is scheduled to be UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira for 205lbs gold. Also expected to take place on the card is a matchup between UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega.

UFC heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes released a statement following his nasty knockout loss to Derrick Lewis at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 19. Blaydes was a massive betting favorite heading into the UFC Vegas 19 main event against Lewis, and for the first round at least, he appeared to be the better fighter. Blaydes didn’t even need to use his wrestling in the first round as he was able to outstrike Lewis and take the first round. However, the second round would prove to be a different beast. After attempting a takedown, Lewis connected on a gigantic uppercut which knocked his opponent to the floor, where he landed two follow-up shots before the referee stepped in.
