Dennis Bermudez reacts to controversial split decision loss to Andre Fili
Last night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s anticipated stop in Charlotte, North Carolina, Team Alpha Male mainstay Andre Fili picked up a split decision win over the UFC’s 11th-ranked featherweight in Dennis Bermudez. While this wins stands out as one of the biggest and most impressive of Fili’s career thus far, not everyone agrees with the judges decision. Shortly after his win, many of his fellow fighters took to Twitter to express their disappointment and confusion with the scoring.

I don’t understand this sport that much. Even takedowns are shunned upon but evasion and brief tds are good? #ufc #charlotte

While many members of the MMA community seemed upset with this outcome, Bermudez himself seems to be taking it in stride. Though he is clearly disappointed with the scoring, he tipped his hat to his opponent all the same.
“I brought 15 mins if intensity & put it all on the line,” Bermudez said in his post. “I was in my opponent’s face the whole fight pushing the pace. But at the end of the day there’s more work to be put in. I’m gonna take a week to reflect & put together a plan of action. Thanks for the support, hope you guys enjoyed the fight. Good scrap [Andre Fili].”
