ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong recently had a meeting with former UFC middleweight and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in Singapore.

Given Sityodtong’s recent habit of signing high profile mixed martial artists to ONE Championship, some members of the combat sports world speculated that he could be working on a deal with St-Pierre.

Speaking in Tokyo, Japan ahead of Sunday’s stacked ONE: A New Era fight card, Chatri Sityodtong opened up on this meeting with Georges St-Pierre.

“Georges and I, we see the world in the same way,” the ONE Championship boss told BJPenn.com. “We share a lot of the same values. I have so much love and respect for Georges. I was blown away by how kind he is, how genuine he is.

“In the future, anything can happen,” he added. “I’ll just say that Georges and I have a mutual love and respect for us.”

While it doesn’t sound like Sityodtong and St-Pierre’s meeting was about business, the ONE boss assures there is plenty of more big news on the way — from free agent signings to incursions into new territories.

“Always,” he said. “I cannot tell you. I’m so excited.”

“I’ll just tell you we have so much in the pipe line that will blow you away, whether it’s athletes, whether it’s deal, whether it’s new territories. Mark my words.”

Georges St-Pierre recently retired from MMA, but is apparently still training regularly. Do you think we’ll ever see him join Chatri Sityodtong and ONE Championship?
