Frankie Edgar makes case for title fight with Max Holloway
Tom Taylor - April 17, 2019
Frankie Edgar is adamant that he should be the next man in line to challenge champion Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title. The former lightweight champ and long-time featherweight contender explained why in a recent interview with ESPN. ”I think everybody knows it should go to me,” Edgar said. “Even the guys who want the shot, you [hear] them say ‘Well, I know Frankie should get it, but…’ You know? Alexander Volkanovski is fighting Jose Aldo in a few weeks [at UFC 237] and that may have an impact, but I think everybody knows it’s me. I’ve worked my entire career for it to be me.”

Dana White confirms Frankie Edgar is next in line for featherweight title shot
Tom Taylor - May 9, 2018
Originally, Frankie Edgar was expected to get a crack at Max Holloway and the UFC featherweight title at UFC 222 back in March. When Holloway was forced out of the bout with an injury, however, Edgar instead fought late-notice replacement Brian Ortega, who knocked him out in the first round. Having sustained this tough knockout loss, Edgar’s featherweight title dreams were briefly dashed, while Ortega earned the chance to battle Holloway for gold at UFC 226 this July. Luckily, however, Edgar was able to rebound with an April win over Cub Swanson, and now appears to be on the cusp of a title shot once again. In fact, UFC President Dana White says Edgar is the next man in line for that shot, and that he could also be called on if Holloway or Ortega is forced off the UFC 226 bill.

Cub Swanson Didn't Think He Would Be Back With the UFC After Brief Time as a Free Agent
Drake Riggs - March 26, 2018
All good things must come to an end… It just depends on when! And the time was not now for veteran featherweight, Cub Swanson. Swanson has had twenty-two fights in the UFC and WEC combined. A fan favorite in the aforementioned WEC, Swanson’s popularity carried over to the UFC after the organization was absorbed and his name value only began to grow from there. All you need to do is look at his eight fight of the night awards to see the evidence.
