Ian McCall once again left without opponent days before fight night
Unfortunate news surfaced this afternoon that popular UFC flyweight Ian McCall has once again been left without an opponent with just days to go until his scheduled fight.
In this incident, McCall’s opponent, Ray Borg, has been pulled from Saturday’s UFC 203 event due to an illness according to Fox Sports. This marks the second time in a row that McCall has been left without an opponent with just days to go until fight night.
Prior to UFC 201, Justin Scoggins withdrew from his scheduled bout with ‘Uncle Creepy’ just two days before the event after not being able to make weight. McCall then looked to fight Wilson Reis at UFC 202, however the UFC opted to move the fight to UFC 203.
Now, McCall is once again left in the unfortunately familiar position of being left without an opponent. Fortunately, the UFC paid McCall his show money, win money, and Reebok sponsorship pay after Scoggins withdrew from their UFC 201 fight, which could mean they will once again compensate McCall for this fight.
‘Uncle Creepy’ posted on Instagram about the situation, calling out fellow UFC flyweight Neil Seery for a fight in Belfast in November.
