Cris Cyborg accuses UFC of influencing biased Joe Rogan commentary

Natasha Hooper - August 2, 2019

Joe Rogan stirred up some controversy at UFC 240, especially for his commentary of the co-main event, which pitted Cris Cyborg against Felicia Spencer. Cyborg beat the previously undefeated Felicia Spencer to a unanimous decision win after three rounds. Despite Cyborg bouncing back with a solid victory, Rogan spoke highly of her rival, Felicia Spencer, to the dismay of many fans. As a result, Cyborg felt Rogan’s commentary was biased.

Thomas Taylor - July 29, 2019

She’s also not particularly pleased with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who generated some controversy for his skewed commentary of her UFC 240 victory over Felicia Spencer. Of course, these are not the first issues Cyborg has had with White and Rogan. Both men have previously made some pretty reprehensible comments about the talented fighter. And now, she wants an apology. Publicly.

Joe Rogan discusses Jorge Masvidal's 'brilliant' flying knee KO

Fernando Quiles Jr. - July 9, 2019

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan has weighed in on Jorge Masvidal’s historic knockout win against Ben Askren. Masvidal has been at the center of attention for cementing his place in the history books. At UFC 239, Masvidal took on Askren. “Gamebred” needed just five seconds to ice Askren with a flying knee. It’s the fastest knockout in UFC history, topping Duane Ludwig‘s six-second finish over Jonathan Goulet back in Jan. 2006.

The record for the fastest KO in UFC history has long belonged to Duane Ludwig, but over the weekend, on the main card of UFC 239, that record was broken. In just five seconds, Jorge Masvidal earned his place in the UFC history books, levelling former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren with a flying knee to the face. Masvidal’s incredible knockout victory left just about everybody watching the card completely stunned — including cage-side UFC commentators Joe Rogan, Paul Felder and Jon Anik. On Monday afternoon, the UFC released footage of the live reaction from this commentary trio, and it pretty well captures the reaction we all had.

Joe Rogan explains why Tony Ferguson is 'scariest guy' at lightweight

Fernando Quiles Jr. - July 3, 2019

For Joe Rogan’s money, Tony Ferguson has proven to be the UFC lightweight division’s worst nightmare. Ferguson has not suffered a defeat since May 2012. Barack Obama was in office serving his first term, the Chicago Cubs still hadn’t won a World Series since 1908, and Benson Henderson was the UFC lightweight champion. Since that loss to Michael Johnson, Ferguson has been on a 12-fight tear. He’s stopped nine of his 12 fallen foes in that span.

Joe Rogan reacts to Francis Ngannou's KO win over Junior dos Santos

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan was paying attention to the UFC Minneapolis main event. Taking center stage this past Saturday night (June 29) was a heavyweight tilt between Francis Ngannou and Junior dos Santos. Fresh off a 26-second knockout win over Cain Velasquez, “The Predator” hoped to make short work of another former UFC heavyweight champion. He did just that, scoring a TKO victory over dos Santos just 11 seconds past the first minute.

Joe Rogan speculates on why Conor McGregor hasn't fought recently

Tom Taylor - June 28, 2019

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought since he was walloped by UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in early October. Joe Rogan believes Jon Jones' only loss should be overturned

Tom Taylor - June 25, 2019

Earlier today, BJPenn.com reported that UFC President Dana White is working with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to get the lone loss on Jon Jones’ record — a 2009 disqualification to Matt Hamill — expunged. UFC commentator Joe Rogan is in full support of this plan from the UFC boss. This controversial loss, which Rogan was cage-side for, occurred after Jones stapled Hamill to the canvas with a series of spearing, 12-6 elbows. Because this move was and still is illegal, Jones was handed a disqualification, despite the fact that he had absolutely dominated Hamill.
