The card stands out as perhaps the most stacked stacked of the year, as it features a middleweight title fight between Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre, a bantamweight title fight between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw, and a strawweight title fight between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas. While UFC 217 is packed to the edges with UFC stars, however, word has it that tickets aren’t selling especially well. Paulie Malignaggi was brought into Conor McGregor’s training camp for Floyd Mayweather as an ally. He left as an arch enemy. Since Malignaggi departed McGregor’s headquarters, he’s taken every opportunity to berate the Irishman, attacking him in interviews, and trashing him on social media. Eventually, Malignaggi even began attacking other members of the MMA community, and in the opinion of UFC commentator Joe Rogan, he’d be wise to stop.

Joe Rogan was upset with himself after he interviewed Daniel Cormier in the Octagon following his KO loss to Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 214. Rogan previously stated that he no longer wanted to interview fighters that just suffered a nasty KO because they were not in the right mental state to do so. However, Rogan went against his own policy in all the madness following the devastating outcome and interviewed Cormier in the Octagon, who couldn’t help but let his emotions pour out.

Though Conor McGregor is an incredibly talented mixed martial artist, he’s being widely discounted in his upcoming boxing match with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. People just don’t seem to believe the Irish mixed martial artist will be able to hang with Mayweather in the boxing ring. The same would go for Mayweather in a mixed martial arts bout with McGregor, of course. If McGregor was allowed to use his kicks, elbows, knees, and takedowns – rather than just his fists – Mayweather would be given almost no chance.

He simply called UFC 207, put down his commentator’s headset, and that was that. His long run with the promotion was over. After months of rumors, we learned yesterday that the beloved commentator had found a new home. Goldberg has signed a deal with Bellator MMA – the sport’s second biggest promotion. He will debut behind the Bellator commentary desk during Bellator 180 and Bellator NYC, which compose arguably the biggest event the promotion has ever hosted.

Jose Aldo is one of the pound-for-pound best fighters on the planet, and really, one of the best fighters of all time. No matter how you feel about him, there’s really no denying these things. In the opinion of UFC commentator Joe Rogan, however, Aldo’s legacy as one of the best ever will always be tarnished by one thing: his 13-second, 2015 knockout loss to Conor McGregor. Though Aldo has since regained the undisputed featherweight title that he lost to McGregor that night (he did so without avenging his loss to McGregor), that knockout loss stands out as the one blip in an otherwise dominant career.
