After defeat of Derrick Lewis, Mark Hunt wants to avenge two previous losses

On Saturday night, in the main event of the 11-fight UFC Auckland card, 43-year-old heavyweight legend Mark Hunt stepped into the cage with the much younger Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis. Though Lewis was not without his moments in this fight, Hunt was able to turn back the clock, punishing his exhausted foe to an impressive, fourth-round TKO win.

With this win, Hunt separated himself from a thunderous, knee-induced knockout loss to Alistair Overeem, and reaffirmed himself as one of the game’s premier heavyweights – despite being one of the most senior fighters on the roster.

Having done so, Hunt is now keen on embarking on something of a revenge tour. He’s got two former foils in mind, both of whom he’d like to avenge his losses to. Those former foes are former UFC heavyweight Junior Dos Santos, and former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 champ Alistair Overeem.

“If I can get [Dos Santos] for Japan, I’d like a rematch with him,” Hunt told the media after KOing Lewis in Auckland (h/t MMAFighting.com). “Or Alistair. One of those two.”

Hunt then went on a heated tirade against Overeem, calling him a “cheating bum.”

“He’s always going to be a cheating bum to me, regardless of whether he beat me,” Hunt said. “All of his achievements, you don’t know whether they’re done by steroids or not. Sorry, Alistair, you’re a cheat.”

Overeem, of course, did not fail any drug tests in the buildup to or fallout of his fight with Hunt. That said, Hunt has had some recent issues with opponents abusing performance enhancing drugs, as Brock Lesnar failed several drug tests in the wake of their mammoth UFC 200 showdown.

Do you think Mark Hunt could come out top in rematches with Junior Dos Santos or Alistair Overeem?
