Mark Hunt: USADA exemption won’t save Lesnar
During the UFC 199 broadcast this past weekend, it was announced that Brock Lesnar would be returning to the UFC at UFC 200 to fight Mark Hunt in the co-main event of the historic card.
In the following days it was revealed that Lesnar had been granted a USADA exemption and missed the first 3 cycles of USADA testing, but would be tested in the month leading up to the fight.
While a red flag went off for many fans and fighters, Mark Hunt doesn’t believe the exemption will save Lesnar from being knocked out. With that being said, he certainly isn’t happy to hear Lesnar is exempt. He spoke to Fox Sports Australia to discuss the situation.
MMAWeekly has the quotes:
I don’t think that’s fair. I think it’s load of (expletive). I think it’s rubbish. I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up — mixed martial arts — this is a bad way to do it.”
“I don’t think it’s an even playing field, but it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get knocked out. Frank Mir was juicing and he got knocked out. The same thing’s going to happen with Brock Lesnar.”
