Max Holloway reveals who really wins the Mayweather vs McGregor fight
UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is really getting to know the business now that he is the king of the 145-pound division.
Speaking with the media recently, Holloway dove into the hot topic of Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor, who meet in the boxing ring on August 26.
“The big winner of that fight is Dana White and the UFC,” Holloway said in his media interview recorded by MMA Fighting. “They the big winners, that’s who wins, Dana White and the UFC. It’s a show. You know, everyone saying ‘it’s not good,’ it’s not bad.’ This guy is coming out of retirement to fight Conor. It’s not like he’s this champion defending these belts and then Conor is jumping in to fight for a championship. This guy was nothing, not nothing, you know Floyd was just chilling doing his own and wanted to come back for an intriguing fight. He got the intriguing fight and that’s what it is.
“For all you truest fans out there, three weeks after is GGG and Canelo. That’s your guys truest fight. Two guys who’s been active in the game and whatever so that fight makes sense. Everbody is like, ‘This fight makes no sense.’ It makes perfect sense. It’s a circus. That’s what it is. It’s a show and he wasn’t even in boxing. Conor wasn’t in boxing and Mayweather wasn’t in boxing. Mayweather coming out of retirement back to boxing to fight him. It’s not like he’s on this great championship run and he’s like, ‘I don’t want to fight Canelo, I want to fight this guy now, whoever the next in line. It’s just a show. It’s a show and it’s gonna make a lot of people rich and make a lot of people money so that’s what it is.”
